Bluemed roundtable in Cavtat as part of the European Day of Cooperation

The roundtable "Bluemed - From European Cooperation to the Local Community" held on September 28th in the Municipality of Konavle in Cavtat organized by the Regional Agency DUNEA as part of the European Day of Cooperation.

Presenters of some project components were archaeologist Dr. Sc. Domagoj Perkić from the Dubrovnik Archaeological Museum and Jelena Beželj from the Konavle Museum and Gallery and representatives of the project partners Goulas Apostolis, a representative of the Regional Development Agency of the Tesalija region from Greece and Stjepan Rezo from the Regional Development Agency of  Dubrovnik-Neretva County DUNEA.

The European Day of Co-operation is organized with the aim of promoting international projects of INTERREG, their activities linking European organizations, regions and residents. The Regional Development Agency of Dubrovnik-Neretva County - DUNEA is implementing projects from the mentioned program by sharing experiences with partners from other countries and realizing concrete activities to contribute to addressing local issues and promoting the Dubrovnik-Neretva County.

The aim of the Round Table was to present the project Bluemed - Planning / Testing / Management of Underwater Museums, Diving Parks and Knowledge Promotion Centers with the aim of developing sustainable tourism and promotion of Blue Growth in the Coastal Area and the Mediterranean Islands, between the Croatian, Spanish, Greek, Italian and Cypriot partners, the significance of the project for the local community, as well as the cultural wealth that lies beneath the Adriatic.

More about the project and international cooperation, said Goulas Apostolis, a leading partner of the Regional Development Agency of the Tesalijas region of Greece. Part of the project implemented in Dubrovnik-Neretva County, more specifically in the Municipality of Konavle, presented Stjepan Rezo from the Regional Agency DUNEA. Domagoj Perkić from Dubrovnik Archaeological Museum spoke about the underwater treasures of Dubrovnik-Neretva County and a representative of Konavle Museum and Gallery, Jelena Beželj, presented some details regarding the implementation of the knowledge awareness center (KAC) within the Archeological Museum of Konavle. Frano Herendija, Director of TZ Konavle also participated on the round table and he welcomed the cooperation in realization of BLUEMED project as well as future EU projects that contribute to the promotion of Dubrovnik-Neretva County and the Municipality of Konavle. The Round Table was moderated by Olja Trković from the DUNEA Regional Agency.
